The sleepy time medicine s usually an anthistamine and they are using the "side effect" of drowsiness as it is used for colds and allergies as the main action of the med. unfortunately some people get the opposite effect of the antistamine and feel hyper instead.npt so good at "bedtime." Better off taking seconal, qualudes or other meds made for sleeping if you want to sleep. Don't mess around with OTC meds. They will get you no where fast.
