About a month ago, I was lifting some light weights with each arm and my left shoulder started hurting. I thought it was getting better and did a weight where I pull down with both arms while seated. I felt a big twinge and now I can't lift my left arm over my head or take a carton of milk out of the fridge without it hurting. I'm afraid I might have torn the rotator cuff or something. I hope it's only a pulled muscle, but feel like it's in the joint.

I have an appointment on Friday so we shall see.

Maybe a pulled tendon? Gettng old sucks, eh?

I was thinking it would be funny if I asked my doctor when this getting old thing stops, but I was afraid of his answer.

But better than my brother. He told me today he's getting his hip replaced and I went out with a friend last weekend whose knee was replaced. My brother is a year younger than me.

I've been listening to my old Anthrax albums lately. They do stand up.

Really?? Makes sense, I guess - I know I’d rather hear them do stand-up than play instruments.

I get what you mean, and it surprised me too, as I kinda picked one album out at random. I was pleasantly surprised and kept going.

Had a tooth pulled yesterday and a post put one. Now I wait three months for it to adhere to bone graft to get a crown.

Today, I go to doctor to see what's wrong with my shoulder.

I don't really buy into the whole biorhythms thing, but lately more women have been reaching out on match.com, where I'm pretty dormant and I have two job interviews coming up: one for a marcom manager job at a Wi-Fi company and one as communications director at a local community college - the one my daughter goes to.

For the college job, I've been boning up on crisis communications, because I'm pretty confident they will ask me about it in relations to school shooting or earthquake or something.

Then you know. My son doesn't even really like basketball and we went about five years ago. I had seen them as a kid and they were still really fun.

I think it should be a universal law that you have to see the Globetrotters once in your life.

Nailed the phone interview at the broadband company. The founder invented DSL at Stanford. I got off the phone with the product manager and HR emailed me like five minutes later to set up an interview. It's for the marcom manager job.

We "officially" move into our house in a couple of weeks, after a few weeks of faffing. Luckily it will give us time to clean our rental which looks like it's been the target of a sustained and unhygienic robbery. We've been going up there every day and just walking round the empty house, taking boxes and small things. It's taken up all our time - with a couple of pleasant distractions (the FA Cup, dinner with the lovely Charlie O and his Dad as they passed through Austin) and I'll be glad when we're in. We're having a weekend of decorating with some pals coming over to help, so we took a load of paint up yesterday and got talking to our neighbours. Our direct neighbour was watering her lawn while holding a pint glass of red wine, which cheered me up no end. We also realise that the garden that backs up to our house and that of our neighbours belongs to a couple that have peacocks, goats, cats, dogs, birds, small mammals and "big heaps of junk" so I think we're all going to get along fine.
You come at the Queen, you best not miss.
