Here's how I see them:

Pauls - Good for a laugh. A bit laddish. Tend to be embarrassing in polite company.

Andys - Mercurial and unpredictable. Tendency to drink too much. Unless they're called Andrew, then they're sensible. Can be mean-spirited.

Johns - Solid and dependable. Fiercely loyal. In fact they have the characteristics of dog breeds which are said to be good with small children.
