Sugar vs Salt

Postby Snarfyguy » 15 Mar 2011, 16:42

When you have a snack, assuming you don't reach for carrot sticks or something, do you tend towords sweet or salty goodies?

I guess they're neither one of them very good for you, but in moderation can't be too bad.

I think I get enough sugar in the booze I drink, so when I want a snack I go for something like pistachio nuts.

That's one vote for salt.

What about the salty and sweet option, things like salted caramel ice cream, or the divine mix of m&ms and pretzels?

A packet of crisps most likely, so salt.

However, I'm not one of those salty popcorn people - those guys are freaks.

I don't get that. I've seen chocolate covered pretzels, but the idea just kind of short-circuits my brain. For me it's one or the other, not both at the same time.

Oh my; I love all that trendy salted caramel action....it's heavenly...

However, snack-wise, it's salty every time....I occasionally think I'm craving chocolate, but after a couple of bites, have had enough. Crisps etc, on the other hand, I can trough my way through tons of them like a good 'un...............

Feeling hungry now.... :(

Possibly true, but I avoid combining the two activities......the salt gets in awkward places... :?

I never fancy something sweet when I'm drinking...it's always something savoury like chips or crisps.

It's funny. I have a couple buddies that will want to hit a coffee shop or donut shop after drinking.

I'd much rather get a slice of pizza or something like that.

But they jones for donuts and slices of pie. I just can't get into it late at night after a few beers.
