One of the positives of this whole shitfest is that more of your traditional Democrats-leaning voters now view "socialism" favourably. US "socialism" being a very timid beast, this is more a necessary correction than anything else but is a step in the right direction.

The big problem is that the Democrats themselves have No Fucking Idea how to sell themselves or a progressive agenda without coming across as condescending cocknozzles who aren't convinced the hoi polloi are to be trusted with anything more complex than eating and, even then, they are undoubtedly eating the Wrong Things.

Given that the DNC was defeated by a human wrestling promo, they need to get some instruction from Jim Cornette.

Get this guy writing some of your ads. At the very least, get Chuck Fucking Cockschmacker away from the Ideas Pit. He has sexfingers when it comes to selling stuff. He fucks everything he touches.

They workshop the very life out of stuff and we are left with Chuck and a sharpie, scribbling nonsense across the heart of all that is good true.

Anyway, who's driving "Russia-gate" harder than anyone, with his utter inability to STFU about it? He-who-is-somehow-presidet, that's who.

I read your link and there is so much fuzziness there as to whether Putin was answering the first part or second part of the reporter's question, it is hardly an admission. I suspect you saw that too when you reread the piece and so dumped it back onto dumb Donald's lap. Putin admitting favoring Trump over Clinton is as understandable as Putin admittedly favoring Obama over Romney but - even if - Putin would never admit to the bag of bullshit which is Russiagate. And if, Snarfy, you are not by now more skeptical of the the official narrative then may I present you with this Pet Rock of Freedom and Democracy.

The larger point is we are all being played and - as much as i hate to say it - it's at the behest of Israel, NATO expansion and the players who are making money off of the schemes.

Watching a video about the veracity of film Lawrence of Arabia the maker went into some history and it seems the ME is being jerked around today as similarly as its been jerked around for ages. If in Lawrence's day the Arabs had gotten what Lawrence was helping them get (sort of), the entire ME would be Arabia with Damascus its capitol. The Sikes-Picot agreement quashed that and broke the region into manageable (by us) bits.

And Russiagate is a ruse in defense of expanding NATO because every new country added to the alliance means trillions for us.

The Trump loving rednecks described in the video above and I share nothing except we both know the government lies, bigly.

Okay, only 35% “strongly support” but still, it’s mind boggling. The same day he calls somebody paid top dollar by the American taxpayer for a YEAR a “lowlife” and “that dog” he supposedly has the approval of half the “likely voters” in America.

Can “Thunderdome” be far away?

Ha!

The trial is the first to emerge from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, but it does not relate to any allegations of Russian election interference or possible coordination with the Trump campaign. Neither Manafort nor Gates have been charged in connection with their Trump campaign work.CBS News

And is not Mueller's mandate to focus on the supposed Russian hacking? From this Lawfare article I see that there is some ambiguity in his mandate order but maybe he may prosecute any federal crimes he finds in his investigation. Nonetheless, his first order is to investigate Russia. That nothing Russia related comes up in the Manafort trial tells me that Robert Perry was right all along, But who knows, right? https://www.lawfareblog.com/scope-muell ... -uncovered

The Special Counsel is authorized to conduct the investigation confirmed by then-FBI Director James B. Comey in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on March 20, 2017, including:

(i) any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and

(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation;
and

(iii) any other matters within the scope of 28 C.F.R. § 600.4(a).

(c) If the Special Counsel believes it is necessary and appropriate, the Special Counsel is authorized to prosecute federal crimes arising from the investigation of these matters. . . . .

I can't believe you think a guy like Manafort positively OOZING with dirty money, heading the President's campaign should not be a focus of any investigation.

just kidding, I do believe it, I just don't give a shit.

A Trump-appointed judge upholds Mueller probe as legitimate and constitutional

Did you read beyond the first sentence of the article? It has nothing to do with Manafort but at least it does deal with Russia. I like this bit of bullshit.

A federal judge appointed by President Donald Trump ruled Monday that special counsel Robert Mueller's probe is constitutional and legitimate, rejecting an effort by a Russian company -- accused of financing a massive political influence operation in the United States -- to stamp out the ongoing investigation. (Go down the page for the contradiction) Concord pleaded not guilty to the charges and though the indicted Russians aren't expected to participate in the proceedings, the firm tapped American attorneys to represent it in court, a move seen as an attempt to gain insight into the evidence Mueller has gathered.

On one hand Concord wants to "stamp out the investigation" and on the other wants to fight its case in court. These are mutually diametric stories. How about Concord feels it is innocent of the charges and wants its day in court, what any defendant is entitled to. And yeah, they want "to gain insight into the evidence Mueller has gathered." That's called "discovery" another thing any defendant gets in a fair trial. And good on the judge for allowing the case to proceed. And that is probably because she is a Trump appointee! Mueller will shit when he can't come up with real evidence against the Russians. Now this is the trial I want to see.

^^^ I have no idea what you're talking about. I didn't say it had anything to do with Manafort.

You asked about Mueller's mandate, even as you yourself posted the allowed parameters of the investigation.

Concord filed a motion to dismiss, as virtually all defendants do in federal court, and they lost. Now the case moves forward.

Since it appears Manafort has nothing to do with the Russia probe I question whether his case falls under Mueller's mandate. It might in a miscellaneous way but since I'm a guy who wants to believe Russia is innocent of shit like trying to overthrow our democracy, it pleases me that neither Russia nor the election was brought up at the trial.

It's a pretty broad mandate. In the Manafort trial that's now underway, the judge disallowed any mention of Trump or Russia, properly so because those things are tangential to the financial crimes at issue (which isn't to say Mueller isn't holding other cards which may implicate Trump in shady financial dealings).

No I think the fact that the star witness was a lying thief trying to save his own skin means that the prosecution has problems! The evidence as it’s been reported is certainly sufficient to support convictions, but that isn’t necessarily what’s going on with jury deliberations. It’s refreshing to me that the judge was so tough on the government. They can normally do whatever they want in court.
