That was brilliant! Any wonder I like you - we have so much in common! Great choices and so personal.

A really nice read, Jim.

My mum's family is from Sligo too - Cliffoney. My grandad is buried in the same graveyard as WB Yeats. We could all be related yet!

 8-)

I have been to where my Dad's family was from, Ederney when I was 9 or 10. I dont think I was ever in Sligo. We usually went to Belfast to see my Dad's aunt who was a nun. Her convent was in the same street as Ian Paisley's church :? and then down to Dublin to see my cousins.

No, I decided to do the formative stuff that forged the old cloth eared duffer that I am today. :D

a wonderful entry, jeemo.

i love the ELP and horslips. i don't know much of a damn thing about irish music, but i've always luvved the chieftains. i saw em once in new orleans with van morrison. just a fantastic concert. i still sometimes hear that beautiful closing irish harp number in my sleep. not that i can remember the name of it now. but when that harp dude died, i spent an evening honoring him... in my own way. ahem.

yer brother's fantastic. my brother would've luvved yer brother. mwhaha.

cheers.
