I haven't seen it in a long time. My little brother is a Powell & Pressburger freak.
Of course, he's also a Peter Greenaway freak.

me too. I watched it when they showed it on TCM when Deborah Kerr died late last year.
I love it. I'll be interested to see what people have to say about it.

Not sure how this one was chosen, but I approve.

It will be interesting to discuss Cassavetes' film - I think it's fair to say that his films aren't for everyone. He chose an extremely unvarnished form of naturalism, and I remember A Woman Under The Influence, being particularly uncomfortable viewing. I'm looking forward to reacquainting myself with it.

I love it. I might need my respirator because I think it's gonna get creamed!

Bonnie and Clyde broke out of or broke someone out of the Eastham Prison Farm ("The Ham") which is about 20 miles north of where I am! I've been there a bunch of times, unfortunately, the old prison was replaced in the 50s or 60s. Pity -- I can't bust on the continuity problems like I can in a Steve McQueen prison movie (The Getaway, wherein his prison is a composite of about three different units - not really a prison movie . . . I know, I know).

Now that really surprises me. I was led to believe they had "everything," whatever that means. My local independently owned shop has an incredible selection, but understandably he can't keep up with everything, so I was thinking of joining Netflix myself.

I *know* my guy has all the Cassevettes, so maybe Netflix isn't all it's cracked up to be?

I do REALLY like supporting my local indie shop!

It was part of the Criterion box. Netflix "has" it, but it isn't available right now.
They haven't had "everything" I've ever looked for, but I'm rarely let down.

The thread will begin on the night.
Really the idea is to do we what we do normally.. which is to discuss films. The idea of doing this officially as a film club is to give people advance warning so they have time to watch the films. I'm hoping to get something of the feel of the synchronised listen threads on YY, obviously we can't have a synchronised viewing but by having a certain date to comment on the films it can make the discussion more inclusive and more of a shared experience.

The Hatzette (?) has it on her Netflix cue and it's been shipped but not received. We'll definitely watch it this weekend.

I saw it once, years ago, in a distracted state, so I look forward to seeing it again.

FWIW - those BCB'ers who have Netflix, Bonnie and Clyde can be viewed instantly on the PC for those who have access to that service.

Incidentally, last week I bought a DVD copy of Bonnie & Clyde for £5 at HMV, so UK BCBers should be able to pick this up very cheaply.
