He'll always be there for you. It's tough to go through but he won't have to suffer anymore.

RIP Jack.

So sorry to hear of this. Just saw it on Facebook. As I said there, it's like losing a member of the family.

My condolences, and sympathies.

Jack is gone but his catness lives on. Cats all around the world have unconsciously acknowledged his passing with a blink or an itch behind the ear as they sit on windowsills or fight over scraps or lie fondly in wait for a lizard to come out of a crack in the wall. You were indeed a special cat, Jack. Run riot wherever you are.

Don't worry about him, Dave.
He's ok now.
I'm showing him round his new place.
I was here. May 1998 - November 2008.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. I can imagine how hard this for you both. My thoughts are with you.

R.I.P Jack.

Is this going to the births, deaths & memorials section?

RIP Jacko. He was clearly loved.

I can only guess how you feel. I've only had my ca for about nine months but I often wonder how any one could have let him go, much less put him in a shelter!! I have become so attached I would be crushed if anything happened to him now. It makes me feel good knowing you guys gave Jack one of those restful cat-happy lives he so deserved.
Oh boy is it getting rough, when my old world charm isn't quite enough.

As you may recall, I was in the same boat last year and I went and added two new additions to the home with Zach and Zoey. Despite their attempts to dismantle the Christmas tree on a daily basis and me having to chase them around the place for a good hour to get them to the vet, they've been wonderful company and I couldn't ask for better replacements. I think it's time for you to consider getting another cat. You know you want to.

Not much I can say that you don't already know about what a wonderful friend he was. I might write more later, but for now all I can say is I'll miss my Baby Boy more than I can possibly express. It was an honor to have known him.

Safe passage, dear friend.

and on October 25th, wrote:We lit a memorial candle to him tonight and said a few words about how lucky we were to have known him, and what a tough guy he was to have stuck around for 9 months after we were told he likely wouldn't last three.

There have been tears, and I'm still feeling a big emptiness where his Jackness used to be, but I'm glad he went on his own terms and not too much discomfort.

Thanks to all the love and support we've gotten here and on facebook. He would've thanked you too if he could! He loved people. Just one of his many wonderful qualities.

Just moving over the posts from the other thread that I forgot I started. Thanks to Martha for moving this one, which I've retitled, over. The love and support he and we got from all helped- and continues to help- a great deal.

Very sad. I'm glad Jack hung in there as long as he did though.
