oh no

Very sad news. Farewell to the little fellah.

Condolences to you both. It is very upsetting to lose such an inseparable friend.

He was a very special little dog.

The Slider wrote:Sam and I took him in at 10.00 and the very kind and gentle vet gave him a quick injection and he slipped away quickly, with no pain or fuss, while we held him.

We are both filled with utter sadness at the moment and it hurts like hell, but we know we did the right thing and he is happy now - he liked sleeping more than anything else in the world (apart from eating, of course) .

I think we are going to have him cremated and scatter his ashes in Brockwell Park - he used to walk there quite a bit and we would often stop for a bacon sandwich at the cafe in the middle.

The flat will seem very empty without him - he was my best friend and constant companion - and I wouldn't trade the 9 years we had together for anything.
I may be a bit uncommunicative just now, so please don't feel a need to reply - I know you all empathise. Thanks.

That's one of the saddest things I've read on here, John.

Lord knows, I've seen the love the pair of you had for the little fella - this must be absolutely heartbreaking for you both. I'm going to miss him, so fuck knows how you two are going to be without him.

Sorry guys.

We are both in bits. He is blissfully unaware.

Our appointment is at 10am.
Our route to the vets will take us by the location of this picture.
It is how I choose to remember him

Fuck, that really breaks me up. What a lovely creature. God knows what you're going through.

He was a ornery old man, though much more sociable when he was younger.
But he was always a quiet and gentle little soul - and he loved his people.

He used to come to work with me, to the pub, to peoples houses - no one ever objected as he was so well behaved. He wasn't exactly effusive but you could take him anywhere.

Thank you all for your kind words.
I miss him so much.

I feel for you.

I've been through it with two dogs. RIP, little guy.

Yet another reminder how long this little internet community has been around.

Very sorry to read this.
My wife and I met Bosco at a London Jolly-Up back in '03.
He was a most charming table companion and my wife was especially taken with him.
He was like a cat in dog's clothing.
Our condolences to the household.

I can't believe how sad it's possible to feel about this news, for this beautiful little dog I never met. So how you two must be feeling...oh, I am just so sorry. I am really thinking of you and send my love.

Oh no, such heartbreak to wake to on signing on to BCB.
Having had too many animals much of my life, I've been through this and it is never any easier. As he was a regular contributor to the boards, I could see Bosco was getting on in years and have dreaded this day. The fucker's made so many of us snort with laughter and will not be forgotten.
Love to you my brother and sister. All the great times you had remain, it is the ache for more of the same that rends the heart.
I am very very very sorry. Tears rising.

I was afraid to open the thread because I had a feeling I knew what it meant. :(

Bosco sounded like a wonderful companion and I can't imagine how heartbroken you and Sam must be at the moment. Cherish the memories, John.
