Bosco came on the first Lakes Jolly Up, he was a dude to the blokes and babe magnet to the girls.

Very sad.

Take care John and Sam

Oh no. I know how heartbreaking this can be, as I had a similar day with my dog, 15 years ago. There are few words of comfort at these moments, yet our beloved's memory lives with us for the rest of our lives. And yes, we may yet meet again, some day.

Take care John and Sam.

Thank you all.
We are both in bits. He is blissfully unaware.

Our appointment is at 10am.
Our route to the vets will take us by the location of this picture.
It is how I choose to remember him

He's kind of like the BCB equivalent to Blue Peters Shep. A pet we all had a relationship with to some degree or other.

I feel for you John and Sam, I really do. You're doing the right thing but that won't make it any easier for you I know. Take solace in the fact that you enabled the little man to live a happy life where he was cherished and are allowing him to leave it in the same spirit, without pain and with love and dignity.

Take care Bosco, we'll all miss you.

So sorry to hear this.

I remember my mum telling me over the phone when I was a student that she had to take our old dog to be put to sleep (she was 16 and just had too many old-age problems to deal with). She had been part of life since I was little kid and it really felt like a family member had passed away. Bosco isn't very old for a dog so it's really unfortunate he became so ill.

Farewell little fella.

I'm so sorry. Lost my dog I grew up with for 15 years a year ago--still makes me cry.
All the best, I'm so sorry.

An awful day for you both. Bid and I went thru the same thing in the Spring, and it still hurts every day. He was a true friend and companion, and the best behaved dog I have ever encountered. We will all miss him.
You don't like me...do you?

Thanks for letting me stay last London JU and for introducing me to the foul-mouthed cur. I doubt he made much of me, but I liked him a lot. Pottering about at home is what dogs do best. Safe in the knowledge that they're in charge and, dammit, are BUSY with a job that the lazy two-legged dogs just won't do!

Have a rest now, Bosco. You've earned it.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I know how much he meant to you both. He'll be irreplaceable. I'm sorry I never got the chance to meet him.

Take care of each other.

Sam and I took him in at 10.00 and the very kind and gentle vet gave him a quick injection and he slipped away quickly, with no pain or fuss, while we held him.

We are both filled with utter sadness at the moment and it hurts like hell, but we know we did the right thing and he is happy now - he liked sleeping more than anything else in the world (apart from eating, of course) .

I think we are going to have him cremated and scatter his ashes in Brockwell Park - he used to walk there quite a bit and we would often stop for a bacon sandwich at the cafe in the middle.

The flat will seem very empty without him - he was my best friend and constant companion - and I wouldn't trade the 9 years we had together for anything.
I may be a bit uncommunicative just now, so please don't feel a need to reply - I know you all empathise. Thanks.
