Well, I'm hoping not. I know he's old and hasn't been as fit as he once was but he's a cool little fella.

Re: Hello, I must be going
I am afraid to say that today is the saddest of my life.
My best mate and constant companion of the last 9 years will accompany Sam and me to the vets this morning.
An MRI scan on thursday revealed that he has a tumor on his adrenal gland, which is treatable, but also another on the pituitory gland in the brain and that one is inoperable. He has started to lose control of some of his motor functions and has developed a nasty tremor which sometimes knocks him clean off his feet. It is neurological and degenerative and has got worse over the last few days.
His vet advised me yesterday that I was doing the right thing.
I don't feel conflicted - just so very very sad at losing him.
Goodbye mate.

I was afraid that that was what the first post meant.
John, Sam, I am so sorry. I still miss my old dog, and it's been a quarter century since she went!

I'm sorry to hear about Bosco. Another great soul is leaving us.
You're definitely doing the right thing.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I never met Bosco, but the pics showed the cutest little thing.
I know how much he meant to you both, and understand how terribly difficult this must be.
Take care x

Needles (front) is there and waiting to give your man a cuddle.
_______________
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Re: Hello, I must be going
How weird is it that I have a very good friend with whom I've been acquainted since the 70s (don't forget, I'm young) and I went to his house and he introduced his big dog as Bosco and I was thinking, like, no, that's not Bosco. Bosco is not a big dog from fucking Waco, he's a little dude from London. And he doesn't suffer fools gladly. And I never even met London Bosco. Not in person.

So sorry to hear that John. We all loved that little fella. You already know you're doing the right thing, but of course everyone will tell you the same.

This makes me really sad. I'll always remember Bosco fondly from his jolly-up appearances, nosing his way quietly around the group of weird strangers in black t-shirts.
Goodbye, buddy.
