Severance on BBC3..its 'meant'to be a comedy, but it is extremely bloody and it features Claudie Blakley who played Emma Timmins in Larkrise to Candleford.

I was about to record Funny Face from 1956, but the recorder rejected the disc at first, and then it was too late. Can't bear to watch it now. At least I have it on vhs, but who wants to watch vhs these days?

So I won't record anything today, a rare day of no recording.

I'm really enjoying Boardwalk Empire and the repeat of Six Feet Under, which I stopped watching the first time round only because I was always out when it was on.

Also enjoying The Big C.

I'm recording Treme, but haven't watched any yet - I think I'm going to let them mount up and have a big marathon when I have more time.

I hate Comic relief at the best of times - great cause and all that but I dont need a newsreader doing the Funky Chicken followed by a blind African Kid who's mother just died to make me give money - but to have Cameron on eating at number 10 while he rapes the country via ridiculous reactionary spending cuts is taking the piss...

Yeah i'm watching it too, though i'm after watching an extra bit from eastenders about whittney nearly getting gang raped with another girl. My blood fucking boiling now, i know that is fiction but i'm sure that type of shit happens in real life. Then that davina bint said that they've rescued kids as young ten from the same experience. fuckin Hell, i don't believe in the death penalty but........argh.

I know i'm not going to be adding anything new to the general discussions on The Simpsons, but it's worth being reminded once in a while of how much genius was poured into each episode for so many years. Just watched "Homer's Phobia", from 1997, which deals with Homer being worried that Bart is gay after spending too much time around a gay character (played excellently by John Waters). The whole thing is just perfectly balanced - the satire is at once biting, tongue-in-cheek and loving, and i'm not sure anyone has ever bettered it. From the comment about Steelworkers of America ("keep chasing the rainbow!") to Lisa whispering to Bart ("he thinks you're GAY!") to Moe's suggestion that maybe they should give up on Bart and turn Lisa into a butch man (homer: "it's too late, she's a vegetarian" moe: "my god homer, you and marge aren't cousins are you?")...

If you have a spare 25 minutes, you could do much worse than spend it watching this.

Oh, be nice!

Brilliant.
