I always enjoy this movie. To think sly Stallone was originally suppose to get the lead in this. Its just scary, i can't see how he would have made this film work.

Maybe. I don't know, only saw the first one. Thought it was so so.
Not even sure what I'd think of Beverly Hills Cop now. Haven't seen it since probably 1986 or so.
Still like Trading Places best out of his work.

I'd put the 48 hours shows as well as bowfinger in for mention. I thought he was good in them. Though i would accept that his character in 48 hours was basically foley only he was a con.

Ooooo, thanx! I've been waiting for this to start.

Which is, I think, the American version of the Danish show discussed on another thread here. Haven't seen the original, so can't comment on that.
I'll give this a go though. AMC tends to produce good shows, Mad Men, Walking Dead.

What? It's not the same one as the Euros have been on about? Well I'll give it a go, I guess.

That poster alone makes it look like a twin peaks remake. I know it's probably not, but i think you can see how i got that impression.

Pretty sure this is a remake, not the European version.
Twin Peaks was the first thing I thought of too when I saw that ad.
Hoping that's not the case. TP blew.

It'll be very different to Twin Peaks I'd imagine, far more in the mould of the traditional crime investigation programme.
The remake is meant to stick pretty closely to the European one, but they have changed the identity of the killer.
Early reports suggest it's well made, but is unlikely to reach the heights of the Danish one which was simply one of the greatest television programmes ever made. My advice would be to get the dvd's of the Danish original.

It's being pitched in the States as "The Next Twin Peaks."

I guess that's more about lazy marketing. The only thing they have in common is an investigation of the death of a young girl, which is a fairly generic plotline anyway. Twin Peaks paid absolutely no heed to realism at all whereas The Killing takes place in a very recognisable world.

Started watching season 3 of French police procedural Spiral, having not seen the first two series. This is well-made but crushingly bleak stuff, shot mostly in steely greys and blues. There's barely a sympathetic character here: the police are either corrupt, bullying or just worn down by the pressures of the job. Still, the storyline is interesting enough to keep me watching. The first two episodes are up on BBC iPlayer, and it shows on Saturday nights on BBC4 in the UK.

Still good ..
Krusty : "But you gotta come back Mel, we're a team!"
Mel : "No, Krusty. You always treated me rather shabbily. On our last show, you poured liquid nitrogen down my pants and cracked my buttocks with a hammer."

"Gigolos" on Showtime. It's a reality TV about a group of high paid male escorts in Vegas, serving female clients. The characters are kinda interesting. So are the clients. And it has fucking. Yes I think is going to replace "Cake Boss" on my Monday night schedule.
