Surprisingly this was on TV the other night. The BBC must have had a hand in making it. I thought it was ok, I was warned that it was a fairly watered down re-telling of events, and it was mostly. Bits of it felt like a Time/Life "Remembering the 60's" type show. But I did learn a little about the Nixon administration and their own paranoia and it featured some of the main characters of the period, some still surprisingly hairy today. Conveniently, they completely skipped Lennons lost weekend, I guess it wouldn't fit in with their John the Crusader image, and the way they tackled his death was tasteless. They shouldn't really have ended the story in 1980, they sort of tried to leave the impression that the system finally got him in December 1980, which is nonsense.
Some of the archive footage was great though.
Overall, not great.

Yoko was very involved with the project from what I gather. I think that there could have been a deeper and more interesting story in the subject matter. There was some good footage and some that seemed irrelevant stock footage. By the end I was left with the feeling that the real point was to try to change the public perception of Yoko from the evil witch we know her to be to an important part of the peace movement. I think she should have stayed in her bag.

Thats pretty much what I thought toward the end and I didn't watch the last half hour.
I don't anything about the subject of US v Lennon and if I'm being honest I know nothing about John Lennon other than the fact he was in the Beatles. In fact I thought the whole idea of a conspiracy against Lennon was bullshit until I read about the documentary being made. TC was right in saying they potrayed the paranoia of the government at the time pretty well. That was probably the most interesting aspect of it.

I didn't think it was that Yoko-heavy, to be honest. She was obviously a big part of his story, but her present day contributions didn't seem to be any more than say Jerry Rubin or Geraldo Rivera. In fact she probably could have given a little more insight into their life, so maybe she was holding back to improve her own standing with the public, but she's been doing that for almost thirty years anyway.
Interesting you call her a witch:
