I don't care if it's an obvious choice. It's also a masterpiece.

If you must go for stand-up concert film, then surely Richard Pryor Live at the Sunset Strip would be the one to chose? By turns hilarious, scathing and genuinely soul-searching (pariticularly during the "freebase" monologue), it bristles with an amused venom for authority. Eddie Murphy's Delirious is funny but a bit one-note. Oh and I'm adding another one. So there.

Whatever it signifies or represents or how it stands as an artistic statement is moot to me; what's important is that Delirious gives me more pure unbridled body buzz joy than anything else I've watched aside from Sly and the Family Stone's performance in Woodstock.

So there!!

More likely we figured it was simply a film we were unfamiliar with. As it turns out, there are a few in there I don't know much about - and more than a few I've never managed to see.

Whatever we do with this list, it was worth it to me just for reminding me of a few films that I still need to see.
