TV shows that should have ended after one season

Postby Powehi » 17 Jan 2020, 15:03

Looks as if HBO are going to respect Damon (Lost, The Leftovers) LIndleof's desire to not proceed with a second series/season of Watchmen.

Given how some shows have been fucked up by outstaying their initially rapturous welcome - Lost lost the plot long before it finished its six-season/-series and 118 episode run - this would seem to be a very wise (and commercially very brave) decision.

Homeland and Heroes are classic examples of shows that should have ended after one season/series.

Anyone here think of any other examples?

Real Housewives of (anywhere).

The Bachelor and all that it has spawned.

Sorry, F, think you misunderstood.

Post specified one season not one show...

I only really enjoyed the first series of The Killing (I'm talking of the Danish original rather than the US remake). The next two were watchable, but just generic Scandi-Noir and we wouldn't really have missed anything if they'd not been made.

And the same can probably be said for The Bridge, although it probably kept me going a bit longer (or at least came back stronger after a weak second or third series, can't remember which one).

Having watched Peaky Blinders with increasingly diminishing returns (if that makes grammatical sense) i wonder if it should've been kept to one (or perhaps two) seasons.
