Paul Darrow, who played the toughest, coldest hero ever, Avon, in Blake's Seven has died.

That voice was terrific. He and Jackie Pearce both made that series through the menace they could generate.
Think Freddy Mercury tried to ape his steely gaze in several videoclips too.

I just saw this ... I am a big Blake's 7 fan. It's so sad that they didn't come back for more seasons. I've read somewhere that there was a reason what only Blake was shot with a "real" gun.

Just stumbled on this. Didn't know he had both legs amputated....
