Yes! A fan. Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, who created Gilmore Girls among other things.

I didn't know this, and it surprises me - although I never saw much of Gilmore Girls, I don't think of it as being anything like this (maybe I'm wrong?).

Snappy dialog, humour, strong female characters, the musical references, that's very GG I think.

The end song over the credits is always way out of the period. Episode we watched last night ended with The Go-Gos Our Lips are Sealed.

To their credit, the "musical anachronisms" are always used in either an "incidental music" way (i.e., it isn't something the characters are hearing) or, as you say, over the credits.
With Amazon Prime streaming, you can move your mouse and a thing will pop up on the screen telling you who the actors in this scene are and, if there's a song playing, what the song is. There's a Season 2 episode where the music over the credits is "Tell That Girl To Shut Up" by Holly & The Italians. I accidentally bumped the mouse and it showed the song as "Tell That World To Shut Up", by The B-52's - with a thumbnail picture of their first album.

Finished season 2. Loved it. Did you spot Yoko Ono?

Re: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Yeah, I noted it, then forgot about it 'til you mentioned it. I had to look up Yoko's Wiki entry to see if she was actually in NYC ca. 1959 (answer: I think so).
While I'm enjoying the show and am gratified to see the various characters grow some layers, I will note that the bits of stand-up we see from Midge in this season are (generally speaking) not as amusing as those in Season 1. That could prove a problem if the writers don't get on top of it.

Re: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
I've been putting off watching the last episode. I remember how aggravating the wait was between the pilot and Season 1, and between Season 1 and Season 2. I guess there's not much I can do about that that's reasonable.

It's the problem with streaming shows, whether to binge or spread them out.

A neat interview with the Palladinos here about the technical/directorial/visual aspects of Season 2:

Half way through season 2, which was slow to start but has really picked up with her secret being accidentally revealed.

Re: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
I saw where they were filming this in the West Village this past spring, taking my kid to school.
It's one of the only neighborhoods that still looks (mostly) the same from then to now.
I had to stop and drool at the vintage cars they'd placed around, and I'm not even a "car guy."
Good show and I'm looking forward to more of it.

Looking forward to the new season.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?
