League of Gentlemen

Postby Toby » 19 Jan 2018, 19:57

I'm finally getting round to watching this after completely missing it the first time round.

It's shit isn't it? I mean, it's watchable, and quite amusing in that "oh it's a bit dark" way, but I'm finding little else to redeem it.

Bloody brilliant. Some of the greatest characters in comedy. Wait till you meet Neds and Maxie Power in series 3.

I never got it either, but I only ever saw a few. I always assumed it was the kind of thing you had to watch a lot of to start getting the humour as it seemed very dependent on 'in' jokes (catch phrases etc.). It didn't seem to be the kind of thing where you cold just catch the odd episode and start laughing right away.

Absolutely brilliant - just re-watched the whole lot from start to new series.
Amazing acting, you get totally drawn into the characters and forget it's just 3 people doing all of them.

Very, very, very funny show. Psychoville and Inside No 9 by Reece S and Steve P are also well worth checking out.
