The Truman Show is ace, and Man on the Moon and Eternal Sunshine are pretty good, especially given his lack of serious acting chops.

I usually can't watch him either, but on The Truman Show he had a director (Peter Weir), who managed to keep him in check, and he gave an excellent restrained performance.

I like him overall. I grew up with crappy Jerry Lewis movies so that "Ace Ventura" type stuff is right up my alley. I think his dramatic turns are quite good - I especially like "Eternal Sunshine.."

I think the hard part with him is when he brings more to the task than is required (I'm thinking "Liar Liar"). I really like him when he goes overboard and the material seems to withstand this.

Also, he's become something of an outspoken hippy of sorts lately. He even shaved off that stupid beard. I like him.

Yeah I like him to, and quite a few of his movies.
I was worried he was heading down a Robin Williams route there for a while.

Really? I thought that film was pretty terrible, and Pitt didn't particularly raise the level any. Only Christoph Waltz really shone, to my recollection.
