Director of such classics as Rocky (for which he received an Oscar), the Karate Kid-movies, 8 Seconds, The Power Of One, Lean On Me and, personal fave, Save The Tiger, passed away aged 81.
Not one that often gets named as influential but I've seen quite a lot of his movies I enjoyed...

Sad to see him pass. Rocky was my childhood film. It's still a damn good one, too.
