Talking of dreams, I loved Gordon's "a policeman's dream!" line. That was a real laugh out loud moment.

I think it's more to do with the funny sight of two tough guy gangsters eating an healthy cereal, in their PJ's at 2:30 in the afternoon. It raises more questions that it answer. Do they share a house? just how close are they? do they share a bed?

Some of the recent episodes have excelled in those quirky Lynch moments that are simultaneously disarmingly bizarre and familiar.

God, Sarah scared the shit out of me
The reappearance (at last!) of Audrey helps to drive home what I feel is the true theme - I won't say "moral " - that you can never get things back in the way they were. Le temps mange la vie, and all that. So sad.
Prior to watching this episode I had unfortunately caught a glimpse of a spoiler comment mentioning Audrey's return. It also referred to her as Snow White. Of course, now I see why. She is Snow White awakened from her coma not by the Prince, but by, well, Sleepy.
And finally: Diane saying "Let's Rock" is fairly packed with foreboding.

After being so enthusiastic about last week's I'm afraid it was back to another underwhelming episode for me. TP3 is still a curious mix of the inspired and the laboured.
Some thoughts:
The good: I enjoyed Ben's meeting with Truman. I find it interesting that although Twin Peaks (the town) has got much worse and become, it seems, riven with dysfunction, Ben and Bobby are much kinder, softer characters than in the original. It's as if they've been through the "bad" and come out of it good.
I enjoyed the French floozie procrastinating her exit, while Albert inwardly fumed. Lynch loves the awkwardness of those transitionary, in-between periods when you are waiting for something. The kind of thing that is cut from every drama, but which Lynch not only doesn't cut, but often makes the whole point of a scene!
Interesting info at the beginning about the Blue Rose team being Cooper, Desmond and Albert..under the leadership of The Thin White Duke!
The bad: I was really looking forward to the return of Audrey, but that scene was pretty tedious and I didn't much like her character. Another pointless roadhouse scene at the end, with more characters we didn't know and couldn't care about.
Overall it was pretty watchable before falling flat with those last two scenes.

A real episode of two halves, that. The first half was great, with a nice scene for Ben and Truman, excellently handled: we see traces of the old Ben in his exasperation at having to take responsibility, evidence of his change in how readily he does so.
The Sarah scenes were really spooky and the sequence in Gordon's hotel room was magnificent.
Things took a turn for the worse though with the murder of the warden. Having his son burst out on him and Roth make the Wendy's crack was another of the moments of cynicism and heartlessness that have sometimes pervaded this series. There is maybe a self-referential point being made but for me Lynch does wallow too often.
The Audrey scene was excruciating, reminiscent of the worst parts of the second series, or of tuning in midway through a film: we had no idea what the characters are talking about and no interest in the resolution.
And the "local colour" Roadhouse scenes don't add much either. I think that it's scenes like the one with Ben, or some of those that Carl or Shelley have had, that offer the best insights into the psychogeography of Twin Peaks the town.
Oh - and surely we all realised those coordinates would lead to Twin Peaks last week...

There is a connection if we assume that Audrey's Billy is the Billy for whom Andy was waiting, and the "Has anyone seen Billy?" of that scene at the Double R back in part 6?7?

After the brilliance and plot development of the last few episodes this felt like a stop gap episode to me. Hopefully just a breather before things kick in again.
The problem I had with the Audrey scene is that she wasn't the Audrey I love. She was bitter and angry and, yes, because we don't know the backstory with this Billy fella it felt odd. Of course having Richard as a son might do that to you. Interesting that both Bobby and Ben have mellowed and matured whilst Audrey appears to have gone in the opposite direction. We shall see.
I don't know what the scene was about with the two women in the roadhouse although possibly the near car crash is plot related. Similarly the conversation with the lass with the itchy armpits has not been expanded upon.
Maybe the weakest episode so far but still some really good stuff in there.

The Sarah Palmer stuff was great. Fantastic use of music too. Very few directors could pull that kind of trick off.
I agree that Lynch has been constantly playing with the audiences desire to relive the old Twin Peaks and emphasising that time moves on, things change, people change etc. Hence Dougie Jones. Some times this sorta thing can be annoying although I have made peace with Dougie but Audrey? Maybe Coopers return to Twin Peaks might bring back the old Audrey to a degree.
