Great work by all those who compiled this.
My only comment is that the Top 10 is a bit Empire mag isn't it?

Hadn't read a copy of Empire in years, bought a copy for reading on holiday. Fucking awful, crap from start to finish, awful writing and packed with adverts and large photos.

I bought it for years back in the 90s. It's always been a bit like the Q of movie magazines mind but it helped point me in various directions so I'm grateful for that. Their top 100 polls have always been a bit silly.
I think like a lot of publications it's struggled to adapt to a new world. From picking it up in newsagents over the last few years it looks to have dumbed down a bit

I was always too much of a film snob to read Empire beyond the occasional issue. It did used to have some good writers like Kim Newman back in the day. Haven't read a copy for years though.

i bought it from issue 1. It grew out of the film review section in Q. I thought it got the balance between box office and art house cinema pretty well. Eventually it was taken over by fanboys though rather than cinema fans and got shite.

That’s my take -a pretty steep decline in the last decade as it became effectively Superhero/Franchise Monthly. Hard to say how much chicken & egg there is though given that seems to be the entire content of mainstream cinema these days outside award season.
