I don't have a favourite film from most of these countries, I don't know how someone decides on their #1 favourite anything but I'll throw these ones into consideration.
Japan - Red Beard probably. Reminds me I've never seen Tokyo Story or Yojimbo, which I should probably rectify.
Australia - Wake In Fright or Lantana.
Canada - The Grey Fox is an underrated favourite but I was quite shaken up by Dead Ringers when I first saw it.
France - too hard to choose but I saw Army of Shadows and A Man Escaped for the first time this year and they were amazing so I'll pick them.
Spain - The Spirit of the Beehive is definitely my favourite Spanish film but I highly rate the original of The Secret in Their Eyes too.
