The story of his stepdaughter's death was quite well known I thought. It was why he was forced to pull out of the Olympics 2012 opening ceremony. It was originally him and not Branagh scheduled to appear.

It took me a while but the ducat finally dropped.

That said, surely

"Gainful employment prithee, sirrah! Prithee! Prithee!"

would be a bit more apt

Indeed Paul.

One cannot expect dullards like Mr Chris P Bacon to appreciate the finer points of a production like this. Go knows quality television programs are rare enough these days. The beautifully constructed Wolf Hall certainly separates the wheat from the chaff.

I like it. It is slow and dark but so beautifully played and the story had prompted me to research more about the characters and learn a lot about a fascinating era of our history (I couldn't get along with the books at all).

As The Guardian point out today the entire series costs the same as what Sky and BT are now paying for one Premier League match (or to put another way 6 episodes of Wolf Hall = Sunderland v Aston Villa)

We watched the last two episodes last night. Absolutely brilliant. It looked so good, and acting was extraordinary. The scene where Anne got hers was just riveting. Certainly TV highlight of the year so far. It was like a very fine vintage Brandy.

Just watched episodes 1 through 4 in two batches. Absolutely brilliant stuff. While everyone will give huge praise to BR and Dl, think
the art direction is equally stunning. Think I may wind up buying this on BluRay
