Actually, it can be quite interesting and informative to find out how an actor has prepared for a landmark role. It gives you, the viewer, some extra insight, especially when they're researching something you wouldn't necessarily expect them to.

I fail to see how this is "bollox". Quite a few posters have specifically mentioned Rylance's performance, and Phil's comment is directly related to those comments.

Perhaps you would like to add your own opinions about the series so far, rather than carping rather pointlessly about somebody else's posts? That would be far more constructive and a bit less "bolloxy".

Apparently, my big niece ( aged 12) is really enjoying it. She loves her history. She'll go far.... :D
