Boat Story [BBC1]

Postby C » 19 Nov 2023, 17:42

.

Sundays (starting today) @ 9pm

The BBC has released a set of first-look images for Boat Story, an upcoming thriller series from The Tourist and The Missing creators Harry and Jack Williams.

The six-part series follows strangers Janet (Daisy Haggard) and Samuel (Paterson Joseph), who, after discovering a literal boatload of cocaine, agree to sell the drugs and split the money.

However, complications quickly arise when the pair become entangled with the police, masked hitmen and a hardened mobster known as 'The Tailor' (Tcheky Karyo).

Sounds interesting...

Not sure, I fell asleep.

:D

I seem to remember a lot of gruesome things happening but lost the idea of the plot roughly a third of the way through, might try again tonight. On the other hand Kin on BBC 1 is pretty gripping.

Think this is basically an interesting story, spoilt by all the silliness that goes with it.

Just watched the 1st episode so far.

When something is a bit of a black comedy, you can suspend your disbelief about certain thing to a certain extent.... but when they push it too far, it becomes disappointing and you loose interest.
In talking about two blokes with guns shooting a everybody in a police station. AFAICS pointless and unnecessary.

Not seen it and, as I hate mixed genres, probably won't bother. If it's a comedy, make it a comedy, if it's a thriller etc etc. Mixed genres usually mean lazy storytelling

We gave up half way through the second episode - just rubbish. Got a poor review in the ST Culture section.
