Old thread but interesting insights. I would suggest anyone who is a fan of PE try Rebirth of a Nation, a "special project" done with MC Paris in 2006. City scoundscape is still there, but not to the detriment of the actual songs. Chuck D and Flav both in good form, and several lyrics and themes are reworked into new tunes. Flav is featured on several cuts, too. Below is one cut; not my favorite on the album but the only one available via YouTube.



For myself, I've never liked Yo! Bum Rush the Show. Thought the next three were great, but the group's personalities eventually got more press than their music, and it began to show. The first time I heard Rebel Without a Pause I was floored by the sound. It was a long time before I could even get around to the lyrics behind it.
