Hmmmm, a hard one since I am a big Plant/Zep fan, but after careful consideration (and much humming and hawing)...

Album: The second LP of Physical Graffitti

Song: 'Immigrant Song', as it takes the best bits of Zep and crams them into a 3 minute song. Class.

How can that be? I like LZ, but I hate that song.

Seriously, it's this type of ill informed claptrap that really cannot go unanswered.

To suggest that Led Zeppelin were a template for 'limited' music is total and utter shit. It really is. I know of few bands who covered the range as brilliantly as Zep did throughout their career. The ill informed seem to think Zep's only influence was on 'heavy metal' - which is, frankly, laughable. Well, it would be, were it not so offensive. When I hear the acoustic stuff that featured on all of their albums (besides "Presence") I wonder where exactly that fits into this limited heavy metal template that seems to be the accepted norm on here? I wonder where inventive rock like "Black Dog", "Kashmir", "The Song Remains The Same", "Over The Hills And Far Away" and "Stairway To Heaven" (yeah, that too) etc, fit into this ridiculously cliched template? You know - Robert Plant's voice did not, does not and never will make Led Zeppelin a proto-type heavy metal band. The fact that, when they did go that route, they were invariably better than anyone else, really should not be held against them. It should be applauded. And then you should go away and listen to the beauty of "Rain Song" or "Ten Years Gone" or "That's The Way" and tell me and everyone else where their legacy is heavy metal and their template "limited"?

:x :x

I'm not a huge Zep fan, but this is a measured assessment.
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
