Why limit it to 100? Why not just add the suggestions to the list and make it 167 or whatever?

Or have i missed the point?

Why not list every band in the world ever in descending order and we can just argue about the placings.

Good idea.

26,347,823: Jordan and Peter André

I'll let someone else carry on.

What? How dare you suggest that Queen are better than Jordan and Peter Andre. Blah blah blah.

Really, what is the point of this thread. It will never end. We should prove this by asking what Bear makes of Sex Pistols and the Clash and then having a debate.

He's at 22,613,005 solo, I was referring to his work with Jordan there.

I agree. But you see, Prof, it's well-documented - The Rakes really raise Penk's ire. I've seen it - it's not a pleasant sight.

Not entirely sure why, but you just have to mention the band and he's off raging like Enoch Powell at a UN meeting.

Someone else can have a go now.

Oh, I see someone's already waded in and we've got a mix-up. Always happens in list threads, I don't know why we bother with them really.

I see you've disagreed with my selections. Do you feel I've underrated or overrated Blue?

I'd probably have them a million or so places higher up, I don't remember any of their songs but they did have a video with some nice Alpine scenery which elevates them at least above DJ Quicksilver in my book.

I realize that I am impossibly old school - but off the top of my head every one of the following artists:

Harry Nilsson
Howlin Wolf
Ray Charles
Roy Orbison
Townes Van Zandt
Robert Johnson
Jonathan Richman
The Lovin' Spoonful
Merle Haggard
Bill Withers
Lonnie Johnson
Randy Newman
The Bee Gees
Laura Nyro
Willie Nelson
The Isley Brothers
Willie Dixon
Phil Ochs
The Staple Singers
Mott The Hoople /Ian Hunter
Bob Marley and the Wailers
George Jones
John Lee Hooker
Bacharach-David-Warwick
Elton John
Rick Nelson
John Prine
Muddy Waters
Richard Thompson
Gram Parsons/Burrito Brothers
Professor Longhair
Dusty Springfield
Fleetwood Mac
The Ronnettes

...is better AND more important than all of these artists that made the list:

Beck (might be arguable some day)
Black Sabbath (arguable - but I think they are over rated)
Blur
Can
Echo and the Bunnymen
Fairport Convention
Flaming Lips
Genesis
Go-Betweens
PJ Harvey
Husker Du
Joy Division
Kraftwerk (arguable)
Nirvana (arguable)
Pavement
Pretty Things
Pulp
Radiohead
Sonic Youth
Stone Roses
Super Furry Animals
Supergrass
Teenage Fanclub
White Stripes
Wire
Yes

Just my opinion. But I'm pretty sure I'm right.
