According to the documentation it should, but as not all aspects of the board act like the documentation I can't promise it.

Ok, Paul how about starting a sticky on Nextdoorland making people aware of what is happening so they have a chance to save? That wqy important or sentimental posts can be saved elsewhere. I dont always look at boiard updates and doubt everyone else does too?

Last night my Inbox said "488/100 Messages (488%)" - now it's "100/100 Messages (100%)".

My Saved Messages says "205/100 Messages (205%)"...

I just saved a load of 'em to my computer, just in case.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRY A REAL ADDRESS, OR PERHAPS YOU SHOULD LET SOMEONE ELSE TYPE IN THE ADDRESS FOR YOU?

not sure this is relevant to anyone else's problems. just felt like venting.

You usually see these forbidden messages when the webserver can't get access to particular pages - but if that were the case then all users would be seeing them.

Another cause is an issue with an upstream proxy server, but as users in several countries have received the error it's unlikely to be that, unless it's a bug with a newly released proxy which has recently been rolled out.

It could also be a problem specific to certain browsers.

thanks for the info. i switched browsers on my other computer from internet explorer to mozilla cuz i was having so many damn problems with IE. now i am having problems with mozilla. i suspect i am going somewhere that is infecting me yet again, somewhere that is not here.

i think what i really need is some industrial strength lysol (or its equivalent.)

Am I blind or something? What happened to the search function?

The search function tends to disappear when Paul's doing maintenance. I'm sure it'll be back.

The search will be back soon. The problem is that when it's enabled it also allows you to view all posts of specific users. That facility causes no end of problems due to the way it extracts its data, and so I need to turn off the search to stop it from being used.

Searching should be working now. It does turn itself off automatically if the server is overloaded.

I've deleted everything in my inbox, including an old PM from Footy who, as we know, has left this site years ago. :(

There's now a limit between searches for each user of 30 seconds. It's to stop the server from being brought to its knees by automated processes.

Yikeser dikeser!

I have just read some of my old saved messages - I don't think I have read them in some cases for 7 years.

There was one from one of my best friends on here that was so beautiful it made me go all weepy.

May be for the sake of the forum's functionality, saved messages are limited to 25 and purged every 30 days
It's kinda depressing for a music forum to be proud of not knowing musicians.

Not really "saved" then, are they?

On Friday I leave. Happier times for sure without this place, populated as it is by evil people. Goodbye. And I hope you do not find a whipping boy to replace me. Perhaps this little episode will teach you something, but I am afraid you do not have the maturity.

Frank.
