Server move - Monday morning UK time.

Postby JQW » 25 Mar 2011, 11:43

We will be moving to a new server sometime on Monday morning. Hopefully this will resolve all of our performance issues for good.

What's Monday morning Canada time? Just so I know when to check in.

I'm not sure exactly as to when the relocation will take place. The confirmation E-mail only states that the engineer assigned to the task will be doing it "first thing" on Monday, so whether that's 5 a.m. or 10 a.m. is open to question. I will be getting an E-mail before it starts, but I might not be able to get on-line between the mail being sent and the server going off-line.

Strangely enough, BCB has been working well today. Either way, I'll pack my bags and toothbrush for our big move.

Maybe we should assign a "buddy" system, to ensure that nobody gets left behind? I think most boardmembers will be fine with the move, but, well, there are a few bulbs that are dimmer than the rest.

Just a reminder that we'll be going down sometime in the next 12 hours - expect us to be unavailable for a few hours, if not longer.

Transferring our data to a new server shouldn't take too long, the delays will be due to getting DNS to point to the new server.

Yes way!
In other words an extended look into *******’s head, and it seems to have some pretty good things in it (who among us is totally free of mental garbage?) It’s nice to see that he is confident enough so he can play some blues again,I’d like to hear more.

If anyone is having any problems with the board after the move, let me know. In particular, if posts get blocked.

Also, can someone confirm that TapaTalk access is working.
