Sky Sports News now removed from Freeview

Postby Rory Bellows » 23 Aug 2010, 09:31

Oh dear...... :(

Got Sky+HD, but have a Freeview TV in kitchen which was almost always tuned into Sky Sports News
Krusty : "But you gotta come back Mel, we're a team!"
Mel : "No, Krusty. You always treated me rather shabbily. On our last show, you poured liquid nitrogen down my pants and cracked my buttocks with a hammer."

I discovered this morning that today is the changeover date. Very annoying since I'm not sure what I'll watch in the morning now.

Yeah it's very annoying, though I had been weaning myself off Sky Sports news as I have Freesat now which didn't have sky sports news anyway, though I could still use my freeview if I plugged the aeriel in which I did sometimes.

I find this a very odd decision by Sky - all that free publicity for their forthcoming sports events you can only gain through subscription is now gone.

Plus, we'll now have to put up with Garth Fucking Crooks spouting unmitigated shite on a Saturday afternoon instead of watching to see if Phil Thomson can manage to get through an entire sentence in one go...

I have a Freeview box upstairs and SSN has disappeared from it as they said - although we've now got Sky3+1 on channel 44 as a replacement  .

However, I have Virgin downstairs and I've been getting a pop-up box when tuning to SSN recently telling me it would disappear on the 23rd as I only have their 'M' tv package. It's still there right now, though. :)

I hope it stays as I enjoy Jeff Stelling et al on Saturdays.

Despite the on-screen message I was getting earlier from Virgin, I now realise that my package is not M but L.

But then, we knew that, didn't we, ladies?
