that's the problem with the world at large, unless we know someone personally, their suffering means fuck all. don't you think the fans in romania would feel anything, does your not knowing any of them mean that thay suffer less?

Plus, poor old Everton finally, and against all odds and predictions and whilst losing their two 'best' players, scrape into the CL spot and then get two consecutive nasty draws. Only a heartless brute or a Liverpool fan could fail to feel for them.

i know both personally too, that doesn't mean that i don't feel for them, i can only muster so much mind, it's not like anyone's dead here is it? let's get a grip now.

Exactly. Which is why, though I normally sympathise with the teams from the crap countries and celebrate their victories, on this occasion I don't particularly. It's not a matter of life or death so my sympathies lie with the people I know.

why? are they dying then?

Rorschach also wrote:And, as for getting a grip, it's you who's banging on about the 'suffering Romanians'. Honestly Rich, you're so Latino sometimes.

i'd hardly say i was banging on about it, and are you suggesting that all 'poorer countries', as i said, are latin based?

No. I was just taking the piss out of you.

I really don't understand why you're taking this all so seriously/personally, Rich.

Apart from me taking the piss, of course.

Looks like Everton are a bad side this season.
Whats the chances on Moyes getting sacked this season then?
Im serious.
It does happen in football.
Lets say Everton are in the bottom 3 just after Christmas.

Definitley got his work cut out.
Surprised as most people as to what they achieved last season.

There is absolutely, categorically no chance of David Moyes being sacked this season - even if we were relegated.

There seems to be loads of "Moyes must stay!" comments from the kopites today - I think this is in response to the bluenoses saying "Houllier must stay!" after ol' Fish-Head lost the plot.

Even if Everton should get knocked out of the FA Cup by a Ryman League team?

Anyone care to explain ??

Maybe it's because last season, we had such low expectations that the players were under less pressure and then performed well. This season, there's more pressure on them to replicate last season and, as a result, they're struggling.

:?:

Of course, in Moyes's first season, Everton finished 7th and only just failed to qualiy for Europe. It's too early to write this season off as crap.

Two words. Thomas Gravessen. Have a look at our record since he went to Real - you'll see why we're struggling.

Perhaps you might be able to get him back. He doesn't seem to be in Real's plans at the moment.

Which would be so typical of Real Madrid. They had Macalele in a similar role, fell out with him and sold him and promptly fell to pieces. They finally got round to remedying the situation by buying Graveson last winter and their performance suddenly improved to the point where they went from no-hopers to genuine title chalengers.

Now, they've got rid of their most effective striker from last season and bought a couple of really expensive and 'sexy' blokes instead and they're not using Graveson properly.

Six goals conceded in the last two games.

Are you still sure about this?
They looked lost first half tonight.Could have been more.
Tightened up later on, but never looked like troubling the Arse.
Cahill is getting no service, the midfield is wide open, and Neville is doing half a dozen jobs at once.

Ah, how we missed his rapier like wit.

You say you've no axe to grind with Everton, yet seem to post exclusively to denigrate them.

How long before you fuck off back to Drongo, Ol' Sky Blue eyes?

So calling Houllier "ol' Fish-head" denigrates Everton? Take your blue-tinted specs off DD.

Well from an english football club point of view, what is there to win that is worthwhile?

Premiership and the European cup? is that it?

Suppose that would be true for whatever clubs are in the top 4 or 3. So does that mean the more successful you are the less important certain cups , like the FA cup or the League cup become?

That’s abit shitty isn’t it. Especially with the FA cup that should still be an important cup to win.

I thought they started off the season quite well and were rather unlucky with the way the results went against them. But I have to say they were fairly dreadful against Arsenal in the second half, nine men behind the ball even though they were two-nil down.
