Terry Neill RIP

Postby Limpin' Jez McKenzie » 28 Jul 2022, 21:11

An Arsenal man, even though he managed Spurs for a short while, he brought Pat Jennings to Arsenal. His teams went to four finals, but only won one, and it is Neill’s teams which contribute to Nick Hornby’s depression in the first half of Fever Pitch.
Later on he ran a sports bar/bistro on Holborn Viaduct which I used to frequent a lot in the 90s.
I kept thinking "swim as far as you can, swim as far as you can".

He was a poor Arsenal manager, but came across as a decent guy.
