Gives you the cost equivalent (taking inflation into account) of all the major EPL transfers.... .
Top Ten (in £m) to
1. Shevchenko 144.4 Chelsea
2. Shearer 125.1 Newcastle
3. Ferdinand 121.7 M Utd
4. Pogba 117.7 M Utd
5. Veron 115.9 M Utd
6. Essien 115.5 Chelsea
6. Torries 115.5 Chelsea
8. Keane 111.2 M Utd
9. Rooney 103.6 M Utd
10. Aguerro 99.1 M City.
Which suggests that Man City (whilst spending bundles) have bought a squad of 'cheaply' priced players, as opposed to Man Utd and Chelsea - 5 and 3 players respectively- who have bought very expensive players, frequently.

Re: If they were transferred today.....
I don't understand how they've calculated that at all. Inflation hasn't come close to that amount. Roy Keane at £3.5m back in 1992 today being £111m? UK inflation has averaged about 2% a year, so it wouldn't even reach double the amount from 1992, let alone 3000%+.

Ah ok, I found their methodology (sort of) - they've created their own football-player-inflation-rate. Still, I suspect this is clickbait.

Yes it's clearly that from the amount of advertising contained therein.

Keane is about right in today’s money I reckon. A top top World class midfielder is going to cost you £100 million plus today, particularly if Van Dijk costs £75 million.
I wonder how much Maradona post World Cup win would cost today? You’re buying a player who will probably win you everything. Maybe £400 million?

Paolo Di Canio is £9 million from Sheffield Wednesday in today’s money. Absolute bargain.

Are West Ham the only club he didn't cause any bother at? I always found it suspicious that he was flown in a private jet to Glasgow from Milan, owned by the Milan chairman. As if they couldn't get him to Glasgow quick enough.

yes, he could have been at Celtic till he started acting out, which seemed to be a recurring pattern. Did he throw the dummy out the pram at West Ham at all?

No, he never did at any point. I'd say he's the best player we've had since Brooking.

He’s a fascist but not a racist one. Or summat.
I suspect he’s quite dim

Which coach was it that said, he was the best Italian under-15 he'd ever seen, and he still is today
