4 English clubs in the QF.

Of the four other clubs, I'd say that none of them would want to play either Barca or Juve, the latter must be the favourites now.

Liverpool didn't play particularly well on Wednesday, but I was surprised at just how lacklustre Bayern were on their own ground. Like Real, their team seems to be in need of a CL overhaul.

AJAX V JUVENTUS
LIVERPOOL v PORTO
TOTTENHAM V MANCHESTER CITY
BARCELONA V MANCHESTER UNITED

I’ll take that

I'd say Liverpool must be happy, yes. Although they'll need to ensure they don't conceded a sloppy goal in the first leg.

I think Man City will be pleased too, especially as the second leg is at home.

Ajax Juve is a fascinating tie.

And Barca/Man United is a massive fixture, no matter what the occasion.

And looking ahead:

SEMI-FINAL 1

TOTTENHAM OR MAN CITY V AJAX OR JUVENTUS

SEMI-FINAL 2

MANCHESTER UNITED OR BARCELONA V LIVERPOOL OR PORTO

Could be two cracking semi finals too

Porto won’t be push overs for sure but they are definitely preferable to the four I wanted Liverpool to avoid: Barce, Juve and the two Manchester clubs.

Liverpool, City and Barca are all better than Juve. No way will they win it.

Juve with Ronaldo will have a chance whatever the occasion.

Liverpool vs Barca would be huge, just as City vs Juve is, with all due respect to Porto, Utd, Spurs and Ajax.

Don't believe the hype, there are more dangerous forwards in the competition. He is still a deadly finisher for sure, but he's not the player he was.

Like who? I mean, Aguero and probably Messi, but who else? Name a better striker still in the competition.

He's won 4 CL finals in 5 years. 19 in 26 games for Juve. Sure, he's not the player he was maybe in 2015, but the decline has been extremely slow.

I suspect he will be playing top flight football for at least another 3 or 4 years just like Beckham was.

To be fair Toby, Beckham really isn't fit enough to lace Ronaldo's boots mate. Like, at any time.

I’m not suggesting that he was the same quality, more that he was playing top level football until he was 37.

There’s no real reason why CR7 can’t do it until he’s 40.

Right. He certainly has the hunger. He certainly has the physique. As long as they stay around, he'll go on playing, I agree.

But,. to be fair, Beckham in the MLS at 37 wasn't top level football.

I'd forgotten that! He played 14 times for PSG in 2013 at age 37.

Anyway, Barca definitely favourites, but I think Juve, City and Liverpool aren't far behind. And I feel Liverpool might get a result against Barca if they score at the Camp Nou. They're not as electric as they once were even if Messi is still an absolute legend.

Man City 9/4 favourites
Juventus 10/3
Barcelona 7/2
Liverpool 4/1
Man Utd 16/1
Tottenham 20/1
Ajax 33/1
Porto 80/1

As of a minute ago.

I think there will be "pressure" of sorts on Guardiola if he doesn't win the CL this year or next. I mean, they're doing brilliantly in the Premier League but I'm sure the owners are really interested in one thing. He doesn't stay more than 5 years at a club and I suspect the next destination is likely to be Juventus or maybe PSG, I don't know. And I feel that Juventus, if they beat Ajax, could be the sort of club to stick a spanner in the works.

I would take both Salah and Kane over him right now. CR can be marked out of games as he preserves his energy for particular situations. Once again, you're reacting to the latest match and basing an opinion around it.

Would I take Mo Salah, Kane or CR in a Champion's League final XI?

Difficult to say. Salah hasn't hit the heights of last season. Kane can be terrific and has scored 5 in 7 in the CL this season. CR has 4 CL finals behind him and is proven against the very best throughout his career.

When it comes to the crunch, I don't think I'd take Salah, as much as I think he was fantastic in 17/18. He has been anonymous at times against the best opposition. Kane or CR is a coin flip I think - quality perhaps unproven at the very highest level versus experience and quality. Maybe CR but on another day I'd take Kane .

In all honesty Mane has been Liverpool's best player in the CL.

Ajax could win it. No team will want to play them.
