Anderson lost because he is not in the same class as Djokovic - as their records throughout their careers show.

Djokovic didn't play his match in one extended session.

Anderson may not have been in the same class but as his first service was such an important weapon against Isner and now went missing, he certainly was performing well below his best.

But he did play three sets the day after Anderson finished his match.

As re his serve - that's what happens when you play arguably the greatest returner of serve in the history of the game.
