Wimbledon Tennis 2018
This year, Murray will not be competing due to injury and Sharapova is back having served her drugs time out. She'll be playing today in a few hours on Centre Court.
John McEnroe who is commentating has just called himself an "old fart".

I’ve been watching the tennis while the football is on hold till Friday. Still a bit too early in the tournament for any epic matches.
It’s difficult to see beyond Federer but Nadal is in superb form.

Re: Wimbledon Tennis 2018
I really enjoyed watching the playing of Hsieh Su-wei of Taiwan with her own particular style -
" Hsieh has a very different style of play, compared to most of the other players. She hits the ball with two hands on both sides, thus hitting very flat.
Her unorthodox way of playing creates many big angles in her game and makes her shots unpredictable."
She's just defeated top seed Simona Halep which was quite a turn-up for the books in a long, arduous, 32*c, exhilarating match with an abundance of long exciting rallies. More of this sort of Women's tennis please.
I can't wait to see who her opponent will be next week.

Re: Wimbledon Tennis 2018
Federer out.
Congratulations for a magnificent performance to the 6 foot 8 inch Anderson.
The Federer Kool-Aid cult kids all over the court relentlessly squealed loudly with delight and resoundingly applauded whenever Andersen lost a point so bye bye to them and to Roger too for his graceless and sullen, cleanly showered exit interview.
Why didn't he just go straight home ?

Epic match between Anderson and Federer.
Sad to see Nishikori out. I always want him to do well but always comes up short against the best. Some entertaining rallies though. Djokovic getting back to his best

6 Hours and 22 minutes...
Isner apparently wanted Trump to attend today, when he knew he'd be playing in today's semi final.

A curfew is going to break up this most excellent game between Djokovic and Nadal?

Unbelievable match. I don’t know why the final set can’t be decided with a tie break, it seems crazy to have matches go on for so long

Re: Wimbledon Tennis 2018
Apparently so.
I've stayed well up past midnight to follow some matches at the Australian Open. Would have happily done so for this cracking match too.
Certainly hope not that in the wake of the fifth set between Anderson and Isner the decision will be made for a fifth set tie-break. Feels quite a bit like a football World Cup-penalty shootout to me.

I think it may also be about public transport Home for the audience and staff as much as the neighbours.

God forbid what would happen if England would have won the World Cup.

As so often, the semifinals just feel like finals. Terrific matches, great entertainment.

Re: Wimbledon Tennis 2018
Yeah. In a way I can understand Anderson being against those extended fifth sets because he was like a shadow of his former self.
