Ray Wilkins in coma now RIP

Postby Pansy Puff » 31 Mar 2018, 13:44

Ray Wilkins has been placed in an induced coma after suffering a cardiac arrest and a fall. The Chelsea legend and former England international was taken to St George’s Hospital in south London on Friday night with his son Ross saying it would be “touch and go whether my father will get through this”.

He'd had drinking problems recently too. He was a player I always liked. Hope he pulls through.

Is Peter Kay still with us?

Fuck me. Even re this, you can't help yourself can you?

I hope Ray gets well, quickly. He has his demons but he's a football man through and through. And he was ahead of the curve as regards English holding midfield players, who could retain possession.

I get Slider's joke, I don't get Gash's. Peter Kay Wilkins? Is that it?

Rat Wilkins was a good passer of the ball too, something I've always held in high regard.

Never rated him as a player, and not just because he played for a bunch of shit teams loathed by all true football fans (and Palace and QPR), or a pundit, but why should he have cared? The poor bugger was only 61.

I did rate him as a player, not as a pundit. I'm sure he was a nice guy too, who certainly had his demons.
RIP.

A fabulous player. And a very talented coach too, until he became unreliable attendance wise (allegedly). Nice guy too, I think.

That's a great shame - RIP Ray.

RIP Butch. A great player and by all accounts a really good chap all round. What a shame.

Yep, such a shame, even though he was a crap pundit, he always seemed quite nice and calm. "Butch" just sounds like a terrible nickname to have suffered, too.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Neither did I. I found his style of play very uncreative. But he did seem a lovely fella so RIP.
