Dodger fans are delighted.
We need late-inning relief more than we need starters, though of course if you have a shot at DeGrom, you get him.

My guys make it to 100 wins and win the West. First WS Champs to win 100 games in following season since 1990 A’s. The A’s got swept in the WS that year though. I’m hopeful because Houston has been hobbled by injuries off and on throughout the summer. Hopefully, they’re hitting their stride about ... now.

It will be interesting in the AL. Lots of talk about the Indians, who've had a good/great team for three seasons now, the Astros, of course, Yankees, Red Sox, and A's.
I'd hate to be the team that faces the A's in a one-game playoff.
No matter who's pitching, you can't coast with any of those teams until the last out.
Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk!

Yankees 7-2. starting a game with relief pitchers just doesn't cut it. Let alone your going to have to bring in 6 or 7 pitchers in the game and that just means it only takes one to blow up.
I'm happy the Yankees will get a shot at the Red Sox's. Can't believe its been 14 years since the last one.
I'm not sure who will win that series but I think the American League winner will be Cleveland or the Astros.
better starting pitching wins. Would love to see another Yankees vs Houston series.
Don't know enough about the national League but I'll be rooting for the Brewers.
The Red Sox will not win this year (Only because we put the hex on Fenway at the Pearl Jam Fenway shows this year-kicked the green monster )

Re: Baseball 2018
So one California team remains...
OK, we know the Pads suck, and we knew a lot would have to go right for the Giants to be a contender, but I'm surprised the A's (and Angels, for that matter) didn't go further.
Now that the Dodgers have actually made it this far - and as you'll see from my posts here, I was hardly overconfident - anything can happen, but to me it seems like every AL playoff team is better this year than every NL one.
In any case, hoping for Dodgers vs. Sox. And that seems as likely a scenario to me as any.

I was looking at the times the Astros and Indians play during their playoff and they don't play one game in prime time.
What's up with that?

They aren’t the Dodgers, Yankees, or Red Sox.
We’re going to a concert tonight and heading down to SA tomorrow afternoon to take my dad and step mom out to eat for his birthday.
I’ll be lucky to see the full game this afternoon. And what I will see will be thanks to vacation time.

Re: Baseball 2018
Since last year, Houston’s pitching has been strengthened in both the starting rotation and the bullpen. And that’s good. But one of my favorite, under the radar moves was to get some better defense behind the plate. I love Martin Maldonado. He’s been a great addition and is starting today.

My predictions, fwiw:
Dodgers over Braves in 3
Brewers over Rockies in 5
Astros over Indians in 4
Red Sox over Yankees in 5
Dodgers over Brewers in 7
Red Sox over Astros in 6
Red Sox over Dodgers in 6.
Hope I'm wrong about that last one.

Usually, I have some pretty clear predictions for the playoffs, although baseball is probably the hardest to pick next to hockey.
This year, no clue.

Pretty wonky ballgame last night.
Great to see the stadium in Milwaukee filled with people going apeshit though.

I feel Price deserved the opportunity to go the distance, but with his post season history, it's hard to question pulling him. Astros are making a push now, could get interesting.

That never did get very interesting. I've not watched much baseball this year but that sure is an impressive outfield the Sox have.

I couldn’t BELIEVE Cora brought him back in yesterday but apparently they realized he had been tipping pitches and fixed it between game 4 and game 5.

I really didn't want the Red Sox to go because I hate their fans.
I really don't want the Dodgers to go because I hate their punk ass team and their fans.
If the Dodgers win, I will be hoping that they both lose in the Series somehow.

I miss the Giants in the World Series. What a great team they were. Nothing but respect.
Umm, has anyone noticed my predictions above have been spot on so far? (At least about the winners, not the number of games.)

You were wrong about the Red Sox but somehow got lucky.
Congratulations.

Re: Baseball 2018
Interesting trivia: Cora and Roberts both played for both the Dodgers and the Red Sox. Has a postseason series ever paired managers who played for both teams in the series? Answer is no.
