Where exactly have I defended him, you carrot crunching cunt?

How do you feel about the practice of keeping flying animals in cages?

https://www.peta.org/about-peta/faq/wha ... -in-cages/

"Life in captivity is often a death sentence for birds, who may suffer from malnutrition, an improper environment, loneliness, and the stress of confinement. Birds are meant to fly and be with others of their own kind in a natural environment. Confinement causes birds to have temper tantrums and mood swings. "

He was obviously a horrible, horrible man. Just watching Raging Bull makes that clear. An incredible boxer, a hideous human being.

Reading his obit, he went to jail in '57 for trying to turn out a teenage girl into prostitution.

Also in the obit, he said he didn't like Raging Bull because it made him look like a jerk, but when he thought about it, he was a jerk during the time portrayed.

I'm not sure it's someone to whom I'd offer any RIP, mind.

Darryl Strawberry wrote:Yeah, we take a similar view on John Lennon, don't we, who regularly hit Cynthia and his son Julian and in the famous Playboy interview he admits to hitting women—"any woman"—and explains, "That is why I am always on about peace, you see. It is the most violent people who go for love and peace."

of course - and it's not like there is a dearth of badly behaving artists whose music we may love. I'm not sure how many of them are rapists, mind. And while of course you are selectively quoting Lennon to portray it in its most negative potential light (and it's news to me if he beat his son), it's very clear from the whole interview that this was something he regretted from his past and was trying to atone for through his love and peace messages, hypocrite or not. With Lamotta, he's just making excuses, doesn't seem to be a shed of regret. either way, it's always difficult separating one from the other, and where you draw the line.
