This Saturday: Kovalev vs. Ward

Obviously, I'm hoping for the local guy and Olympic gold medalist, Andre Ward. But Ward is moving up in weight and "Krusher" is a badass.

Almost identical records: Kovalev at 30-0-1 and Ward at 30-0. Kovalev has a ridiculous amount of knockouts in his last 26 fights.

I'm thinking about getting the pay-per-view.

I really like Ward but have a very strong aversion to guys stepping up in weight against good/great champions.

I'll still side with Ward but.... deep down... I'm scared if he gets tagged, he may not get up from it.

Ward's first gym where he went to at nine is in the town next to where I live now.

The match up is pretty even. Kovalev has a little reach advantage and Ward's a little taller. 26 KOs for Kovalev and 15 for Ward. 15 isn't bad for a "defensive" fighter.

Actually I am now firmly in the Kovalev corner.... I just think he will hit too hard (and too often) and wear Ward down, and overwhelm him.
