That's a turn up for the books.

Not really, Barcelona announced this weekend that they were looking for a new manager. His time is now!

For sure. I'm just a bit surprised given that he's done a good job there. Not sure where else he would go in the Premiership right now - perhaps he's going to China.

I think he's really retiring, from this :

"But there comes a time when you have to take stock of what direction you want your life to take - and that's been the simple part for me.

"I want to be able to savour life while I'm still relatively young and when I'm still relatively healthy, even if I'm beginning to feel all my 62 years.

"While I've got the energy, I want to travel and also spend more time with my family and grandchildren without the huge pressure that comes with being a football manager. I owe that to my wife and family.

"This is the right time for me, I know that in my heart. I have no ambitions to take another job, I simply want to be able to enjoy all the things you cannot really enjoy with the 24/7 demands of managing any football club, let alone one in the Premier League."

It seems he means it.

Do you realise this is the first time since 1979 that neither Arsenal or Man Utd have finished in the Top 4?

That means, sky, BT/BBC, or ITV will probably try and sign him up. Should be a bit of a laugh.

In a friendly Pool played last night.

The Liverpool side was a mix of the past, present and future with Carragher partnering Dejan Lovren at centre-back

Would pay good money to get Jamie's opinion after the game.

Aguero for sure.

De Bruyne yet to fulfil properly. Ozil too infrequent.

Pogba won two trophies in his first season, and I think Mata has actually been a pretty good player for United.

I kind of hope Southampton get relegated next season.

Unbelievable.

What exactly do the directors think 'success' looks like for Southampton?

Palace are doomed now.
Hodgson is, always has been, a wanker.

Can't believe Palace gave De Boer an Allardyce squad and expected him to produce Ajax style football in 4 games. Extremely piss poor recruitment.

I'm not sure they did. I think they expected him to produce winning football, in any style, but only gave him 4 games to do so.

They and Hodgson deserve eachother.
