85 fucking goals. Dixie Dean.

Remember it.

Why? Is there going to be a test? :)

I've known about Dixie's stats (although not this one) since I was a kid reading every book about football the library had, and wouldn't dream of knocking them - the 60 in the league in a season will stand for my lifetime – but no-one I knew as a kid saw him play, and nothing was televised, so it's just numbers. Very impressive numbers (although lumping in the Lancashire Cup and England trials is stretching things a little bit) granted, but a completely different time - look how many George Camsell got in 1927, and his record for England, 'better' than Dean's.

But this is a Spurs thread, HK is doing what he's doing now, and I feel it's worth celebrating.

The fourth goal against Everton. A thing of extraordinary beauty

Second consecutive runners-up spot looking a distinct possibility, with the three teams above us all looking very flaky. I'd have settled for that at the beginning of the season.

Interesting stat for Spurs this season - Eriksen has created over 45 goalscoring chances for Harry Kane. He's scored one of them.

Awful thing when that happens. I had a similar experience at a Tom Jones concert.

You're the only one talking about Marcus's post. The rest of the posts from Penk on down are talking about the game – or perhaps you didn't realise there was European football on, since it isn't Thursday ;).

I watched the game tonight and that was a mighty performance from Spurs. To come from 2-0 down after 9 minutes, in Turin, is sensational. Let's hope they can finish the job off in London.

I have to admit I did a fist pump when Kane scored. I'd like to see them win the whole thing, or at least two of Spurs / Liverpool / City final.

I watched it around my brothers, who is a Spurs fan, so I kind of felt obligated to do something similar.. :) (Kane took the goal absolutely superbly, didn't he). But seriously that was an excellent performance, despite a couple of their players having shockers (Aurier particularly, and Alli only marginally less so).

Considering who they've played so far, and the results they've achieved, they will not be a team the other clubs want to draw in the QF's, if they finish the job off at Wembley.

What a fabulous Cup tie..... Rochdale at Wembley for the replay. That's the stuff of dreams.

It was great, wasn't it? Must admit I was a bit disappointed when the ref gave the pen.
