I know it's all been lost in the delight at Man U's demise, but credit to Pocchetino for a brilliant tactical game last night (reverting to a back four at exactly the right game) and also to Alderweireld, who was absolutely fantastic last night. There may be a better centre half in the game, but I'm struggling to recall him (maybe Varane is comparable).

Interesting subs today from Spurs - Five minutes to go, losing 2-1...take off Dembele (deep midfield), bring on Winks (similar). One minute before the full 90, still losing, bring off Davies (left back) and replace with Rose (similar). Lose 2-1.

Interesting decision to leave Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld at home, and not even put them on the bench.

Yet again, Spurs concede goals from set pieces and throw away a winning position in Europe.

Some of the fans are beginning to question where the club is going, which is a bit harsh on Pocchetino.

However... there are growinf reports that the new stadium won't be completed until the summer!

Still, Spurs fans can get a look at "the future" here :

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45481620

Tottenham fans will be able to see inside their new stadium before they can physically step foot in it - thanks to a video game.

FIFA19 will feature a virtual version of the ground when it launches on 28 September.

Interesting subs pt 3:

Bring off Wanhyama - replace with Dier (like for like)

Bring off Son - replace with Sissoko (virtually a second forward with a wide midfielder - who is fucking hopeless, by the way)

Bring off Lamela - replace with Llorente (a goalscorer on the night for a guy who in two seasons at Spurs basically hasn't been).

Lose 4-2 at home.

Another moment of madness from Lloris last night - in the managers own words, it looks like Spurs are out of the Champions League, after only three games.

Very worrying news regarding Glenn Hoddle.

Ex-England and Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle is seriously ill in hospital after appearing as a pundit for BT Sport on Saturday, his 61st birthday.

The idea that Spurs could build a brand new stadium that wouldn't impact on their finances and ability to compete always sounded like a pipe dream. I kept being told by Spurs fans "Oh no, it's all been costed". Now we are seeing the reality.

No such thing, my dear Gooner.
Props to your lot, though. Emery seems to have got them going.

That was also big fun, even though I had to follow it on the Guardian's minute-by-minute, and the Gooner reject shat on their clean sheet. For the last few years, this has increasingly been the derby that matters for Tottenham, with the Nomads going backwards and Wet Spam as irrelevant as ever, and thankfully they've won a few after them being our major bogey team for over a decade.
So, shit season so far  , everyone's leaving to win more trophies    , but still looking good for finishing in the medals for third year in a row and still in all cups (CL still possible, if unlikely).

Interesting subs Pt 4:

Down 4-2 in the North London derby, 12 minutes to go ;

Take off Alli & Son (two very attacking midfielders, at the very least), bring on Winks & Moura (two midfield players, who certainly don't appear more attacking than those replaced)

2 minutes later :

Bring off Davies (left back) bring on Rose (left back).

If nothing else it exposes the lack of depth Spurs have with regard to attacking options.

Fair comment. Five high quality international forwards isn't really enough.

Who are the five - Kane, Ali, Song, Lamela and Erikson presumably? Of those only Kane and Erikson are elite level players. If you can stop Eriksson supplying the bullets you can go a long way to stopping Spurs.
