Do the Vikes have a chance here?
I'm still trying to figure out how the Jags made the playoffs.

The Jaguars have been picked to be good the last two years. They finally put it together.

So, another upstart team faces the Pats. Seahawks, Giants, Falcons, and now the Vikings. Every other year they're in it and every other year, they win.

I know we all dislike the Patriots but... credit where it's due... yet again they're seemingly out of it against a Jaguars team that couldn't possibly play better (and proved their season hasn't been a fluke) but still, somehow, someway, claw their way back and snatch victory with some utterly magnificent QB play from Brady (I'm not sure he's ever looked better than in that 4th quarter - imperious) and the supporting cast (Amendola stepping into the shoes of the absent Edelman and Gronk superbly) to break Jacksonville's hearts. It was a wonderful game to watch (again) and they really do leave you full of admiration (no matter how much you dislike them).
I haven't watched the Vikes/Eagles game yet but that looks to be a complete blowout.... Foles is a decent QB and they will give the Pats a serious examination in the Superbowl.

Just watching the Eagles game now... good grief, they've absolutely obliterated the Vikes.

I think they do too, but I think last years' Falcons had the best chance.
By the way, who didn't think the Pats would come back and win that one?
I did.

Jags pushed them real close, with anything resembling a serviceable QB they’d have won. There’s an inevitability with the Pats but if the Eagles D shows up like last night it will be an interesting game. An aside, I’m pleased for our guy Ajayi.

Yesterday.
The first half, the Jags set up Bortles to make manageable passes on manageable downs. In the second half, there were more second and third and longs. I think Bortles played well - great in first half, okay in the second. I think it was more that the Jags play man-to-man with a two deep safety formation. Almost a prevent defense so the Pats wouldn't get behind the secondary. I think the Jags felt they could make plays in front of them, but didn't want to give away the long ball.

The singer, Pink, is a Philly girl and it's cute to see how jazzed she is to sing the national anthem with the Eagles playing.

I thought they'd win from the moment Brady connected with Amendola on that 3rd & 18 with nine minutes left.
The Pats (as always) adjusted though - they stopped the run, making Bortles throw on second (or risk long third downs). The Jags really aren't set up for that... they need to give Bortles 2nd & 5's and third and 2's... that kind of thing...not second and ten or third and eight. Bortles did well but the offence is, in reality, very pedestrian.

I don't think the Jags would argue. Fournette is their meal ticket.
I know the pass you're talking about. My thought was that Brady was going to start carving them up and if Pats' receivers were going to make those catches and they're in sync with Brady, bye bye Jaguars.

Yeah it’s over here Sloop. It’s a cute metaphor for the Super Bowl.

Patriots choose to wear their white away colours for the Superbowl - Brady is 3-0 in white at the Superbowl.

On Mike & Mike this morning, Cleveland Browns' Joe Thomas was asked what Cleveland should do in draft. Thomas replied they should sign Kirk Cousins because a QB is like the tide and raises all boats. He went on to say they should draft Barkley out of Penn State and a future left guard to replace him.
Gawd, I hope the Niners were listening and hurry up and sign Garroppolo.

Alabama made 174.2 million and the athletes got fuck all. Salaries and scholarships would be covered by about 10% of that.

Well, head coach, Nick Saban, makes $11 million and then they have to pay the rest of the coaching staff, trainers, travel, etc.
College football is usually the only revenue generating sport for most universities, at a place like Alabama. There are probably 20 other men's and women's sports at the competitive and club level that football funds.
