I'm glad I'm not a bettor. This season would be tough. I thought the Bills were a sure bet on Sunday.

Pittsburgh too.

Former Niner and NY Giant QB, YA Tittle, died at 90. After retiring, from football he lived in the town just south of my hometown. Subject of iconic sports photo.

He's a dead ringer for Carel Struijcken! Great pic indeed.

To you other point, sloop, I saw this intriguing meme the other day...

Well, the Jets are 2-2 and I didn't think they'd win that many.

They look awful though.
Can you really count wins against the Jags and Browns as such?

Maybe not the Browns but the Jags thumped the Ravens at Wembley and also thumped the Texans and Pittsburgh on the road, and are top of their division.

And will be your first team headquartered in London.

My bet.

If it happens (and that's a bif if, as we know) they have to be favourites - purely on the basis they've willingly given up a home fixture for five seasons, they're poorly supported in Florida and they appear to be gaining some real 'home field' advantage in London. I wouldn't rule out Miami though - despite them being a storied franchise, they have fallen off the cliff both performance wise the past 15-20 years and attendance wise.

Football is a cruel master. Below, see Dwight Clark in wheelchair (ALS). That's Ronnie Lott on left.

Good to see Adrian Peterson run for two TD's in Arizona - makes you wonder what the hell his stint at New Orleans was all about really.

The Giants upset Denver? Wow.

The Steelers were one of the featured games in the UK and they stuck to a really brilliantly conceived gameplan to inflict the Chiefs first defeat of the season. I'm still not convinced that Big Ben is quite the guy he was last year, but this week the offensive stars turned up alongside him, and the D played superbly. but they just have to get Bell involved the same way every week from now - the guy is freaky. Unique even.

I had to blink my eyes at that one.

The Niners find new ways to lose games and the Raiders are losing the close ones they won last season.

After Antonio Brown's sniping, I was wondering if they'd lose it. The Steelers have the Chiefs number though.

Now Martavius Bryant wants out.

Having just watched Siemian throw a doozy pick six to a safety roaming loose in a cover two D, I'm not surprised they lost so badly.

Sad to hear of the sudden passing of Kevin Cadle. A big part of my Sunday NFL experience for years as lead presenter on Sky. His warmth and humour shone through. We have much to be grateful in the UK for his part in opening the game up to us.

Indeed. He wasn't always the most natural presenter but he knew his stuff (even if he was more of a basketball guy) and his passion really shone through (especially for his Bills). And yes he was a funny guy too. As you say Frank, an essential part of my understanding of the game.

Frank and Pete - if you get a chance, watch a replay of Raiders/Chiefs game.

The last minute is like the 1972 Russia/USA gold medal hoops game.

Saw it yesterday John... incredible. Thing is, I think the officials were probably right - there were penalties as called. But that has to be the first time there have been two 'final' plays after the clock has expired, doesn't it?

And what the flying fuck was Lynch thinking of?
