A 'proper' club eh? What's one of those then?

Newton Heath - now there was a proper club.

Considering just how poorly they have played on many occasions so far, the fact that Man City are unbeaten and in second place with nearly a third of the season gone, does not augur well for everyone else.

you could say the same about Utd. I mean Utd are of course well-know for their last-minute goals and overturning deficits, but this season has already seen a remarkable/implausible/undeserved number of these. weird league so far.

There were some flashes of the 'old' City during the second half on Sunday but we have been average in the Prem and poor in the Champs League. Manchester Derby is 3 weeks on Sunday at The Etihad, before that we play Chelsea at The Bridge. Everton may capitalise during this time.

Not quite as important a Derby as the one last year in the run-in to the title when we beat the Rags as part-of a six-game winning streak overhauling an 8 point lead but still a hugely important game. The Rags have injury problems according to Sore Alex's press conference this morning. But then again, so do we. If Silva is fit 3-1. If not, 2-1.

I don't actually find what happened to Ferdinand amusing.

I actually think he dealt with that with a -less than characteristic- touch of class. He could have made a great deal more of it than he did. And the idiot who ran after Ferdinand, and was restrained by Joe Hart, needs to be banned from all football for life.

Mancini's reaction of disgust with Tevez when he didn't go down for a penalty was priceless :D

I agree with DD on this. The thrower of the coin should also be banned for life and be prosecuted, presumably on a charge of assault.

No, not in the slightest.

Didn't Rooney have something thrown at him too?

I didn't realise he had been hit with a coin, I watched it after the event in a pub with no sound on the TV - it looked to me like he had hit himself in the face trying to lift his shirt over his head - which would have been pretty funny.
