Interesting. as much as I agree with the logic of her arguement, I find it incredible that she doesn't seem to be even the tiniest bit concerned that some of those people with abonrmal counts actually are cheating...she seems more concerned with the (quite likely) tiny proportion who will not be.

i smell a rat - maybe, just maybe, the anti-doping agencies are in on it too.

:D
Absolutely smashed him (and everyone else) as well.
I read a curious article in the main Swedish newspaper a couple of days ago that talked about the good/evil angle of the Gaitlin/Bolt match-up, and the journalist described the Bolt win as a "victory for those of us who are romantic and naive enough to believe that it is possible to run as fast as Bolt without doping". I thought that was a pretty astonishing thing to say.

The thing with Sun Yang really has been boiling over here...apparently many of the Australian swimmers who had nothing to do with Mack Horton's outburst are being targeted by enraged Chinese fans. Through some officials China has demanded that Horton withdraws his comments and formally apologises....
China and Putin- the bullying never stops. Fuck them.
That episode makes me even more agreeing with a lifetime ban for drug cheats.

This is the problem - if a sportsman doesn't possess the moral fibre or nuance to say "No" to drugs...the chances are, they will re-offend even after a ban, because.... they don't possess the moral fibre or nuance to say "no"

And good on the AOC for pretty much telling China to go fuck themselves and standing behind Mack, because he's 100% correct.

Here's an interesting article about Justin Gatlin which argues (somewhat) against his demonisation:

Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Interesting that Bradley Wiggins has named Lance Armstrong - yes that Lance Armstrong- as one of his icons in his latest book.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/46051098

"I'm not condoning for one minute what Lance did," Wiggins said at an event before his official book tour this week.

"From the angle I wrote this book at, I couldn't not include him in it.

"In terms of how I feel, I'm not asking anyone to agree with me, but you can't change the way someone made you feel.

"At the end of the day, we're all human and if someone asks me now, I'm going to tell them what I think - I haven't got an agenda, I'm not in a team, and not everyone is going to like it."

Well well....
